UPI to offer Stam in rice market in 2007

Following the United Phosphorus Limited's global acquisition of propanil from Dow AgroSciences LLC, its North American subsidiary UPI will take over the sales and marketing responsibilities for Stam, a leading rice herbicide.

Under the terms of the agreement, United Phosphorus Limited assumed global ownership of all propanil formulations and its associated tradenames, including Stam herbicide. Stam is a postemergent herbicide that provides control of annual grasses, broadleaf weeds and sedges in rice.

“The addition of Stam complements our already strong portfolio of rice herbicides that also includes Londax, Storm and Ultra Blazer,” says Jeffrey Pritchard, vice-president and general manager of UPI.

“With Stam, we can now provide growers a broad portfolio of solutions that deliver performance and value.”
