Texas Agriculture Commissioner Susan Combs will deliver the keynote address at the USA Rice Outlook Conference on Dec. 5, in Austin, Texas.
“We are pleased to have Commissioner Combs lead the program this year,” said USA Rice Federation Chairman Lee Adams, a Texas rice miller. “The U.S. rice industry commends her commitment to agriculture and rural development as well as her leadership on nutrition issues, especially for school children.”
The USA Rice Federation’s annual conference is the national educational forum for rice producers and all segments of the U.S. rice industry. This year’s business program will cover the farm bill outlook, trade issues, conservation, research and domestic and global rice production. Expert panels also will address trends, opportunities and challenges for U.S. rice in domestic and international markets.
The conference trade show is the nation’s most comprehensive exposition devoted exclusively to rice-related equipment, products and services.
The event location traditionally rotates among the six major rice-growing states. The 2005 USA Rice Outlook Conference will be held Dec. 4-6 at the Hilton Austin Hotel. Online registration is available at www.usarice.com, under Industry Affairs. “Early Bird” registration is available until Nov. 16.
