North Mississippi Row Crops Field Day

VERONA, Miss. -- The biennial North Mississippi Research and Extension Center Agronomic Row Crops Field Day will be held Aug. 4 at the Lee County Agri-Center, Magnolia Conference Center, south of Verona. The field day begins at 8 a.m. and concludes at 1:30 p.m.

The program will include featured speaker David Waide, Mississippi Farm Bureau president, 30 educational and industry exhibits, and field research plot tours.

Certified Crop Advisors continuing education credits and renewal of certification for Professional Consultants will be provided.

The field tour begins at 8:30 a.m. and will feature an opportunity to learn about 15-inch-row spindle-picker cotton, cotton variety seeding rates, blending of cotton varieties, corn insect management, Roundup Ready corn hybrids, corn and soybean production in fescue sod, soybean varieties, soybean reduced seeding rates, and the latest on Mississippi’s current row crops situation.
