All Blu-Jet Galaxy models have the ability to inject liquid, dry, NH3 or dual placement fertilizer solutions while performing the strip-till operation.
Thurston Manufacturing Company, producer of Blu-Jet fertilizer application and tillage equipment, announced it has released its newest strip-till implement, the Blu-Jet Galaxy.
The new mainframe will further enhance Blu-Jet’s award winning strip-till product line by offering a variety of narrow and wide row spacings along with the traditional 30-inch spacing.
“We see an opportunity to provide the marketplace a strip-till implement with increased residue handling capabilities in narrow row configurations”, said Nick Jensen, Chief Marketing Officer at Thurston Manufacturing Company.
“The Blu-Jet Galaxy achieves this goal while also accommodating 30-inch and wide row spacings on a heavy duty mainframe.”
Blu-Jet Galaxy is a 3-point mounted toolbar with a 7”x7” mainframe for ultimate tracking and durability. Swath widths are available from 12’ (4 rows, 36” spacing) to 45’ (18 rows, 30” spacing). A lift assist package comes standard on all 12, 16, and 18 row models, and is available as an option on smaller units.
Models with wider working widths feature a five section fold and a narrow transport width of 15’8”. All Blu-Jet Galaxy models have the ability to inject liquid, dry, NH3 or dual placement fertilizer solutions while performing the strip-till operation.
“The Blu-Jet Galaxy was designed to be flexible in row configurations”, said Jim Summers, Engineering Department Head at Thurston Manufacturing. “The frame has common components which allow the toolbar to be reconfigured as the needs of the farmer change.
“The lift assist, which is standard on all 12 row and larger toolbars, converts the three-point mounted implement into a semi-mounted implement. This adds stability to the tractor and implement system during field use and highway transport”
