Tri-State soybean meeting Jan. 9

Agricultural producers from Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi will have an opportunity to hear the latest in soybean research during the 2009 Tri-State Soybean Forum Jan. 9 at the Thomas Jason Lingo Center in Oak Grove, La.

Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., and the meeting will feature a variety of production topics covered by experts from the LSU AgCenter, the University of Arkansas and Mississippi State University, according to Myrl Sistrunk, LSU AgCenter county agent in West Carroll Parish.

Topics on the program include conventional weed control options, seed quality and availability, soybean seed inoculation, late-season insect and disease management and the soybean market outlook.

The program also will feature a U.S. Soybean Board update, and the Tri–State Soybean Producer Panel will meet at noon.

No registration fee is required for the meeting, which ends with lunch at 12:30 p.m. For more information, contact Sistrunk at (318) 267-6712.
