Southern Plant Nutrient Management Conference Oct. 5-6

MEMPHIS — The Southern Plant Nutrient Management Conference (formerly known as the Southern Soil Fertility Conference), will hold its annual meeting on the afternoon of Oct. 5 and the morning of Oct. 6.

The site of the conference is the Whispering Woods Hotel and Conference Center in Olive Branch, Miss., just south of Memphis at 11200 East Goodman Road.

The conference fosters information exchange between Extension and industry agronomists to advance the science and practice of sound nutrient management for Southern crops. Participants include Extension, research, and industry agronomists from 13 Southern states.

Updates on nutrient management research and Extension activities will be provided by representatives from all states attending.

The theme this year is Secondary Nutrients and Micronutrients for Optimum Nutrition of Southern Crops. On the program is Ross Welch from the U.S. Plant, Soil and Nutrition Lab and Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.

The conference registration fee is $50, payable at conference check-in. Continuing education units in nutrient management will be provided CCAs who attend.
