Nutsedge in Louisiana rice

More About:

Nutsedge appears to be a bigger problem this year in Louisiana rice, says Eric Webster, LSU AgCenter weed specialist.

Some weeds, such as barnyardgrass, are developing resistance to the herbicide Newpath, and he advises farmers to observe the basics of crop rotation.

Webster says farmers often have to accept minor injury to a young crop from a herbicide to get effective weed control.
