Arkansas rice disease update

  • Sheath blight
  • Stem rot
  • False smut.

Sheath blight has increased in severity in some Arkansas rice, especially the northeast section of the state where humidity and some rainfall have made conditions more favorable for disease development.

Stem rot has still been a no-show, although conditions favor its development.

Concern is increasing about the smuts, especially false smut.

Blast on CL 261 is a concern in some Arkansas counties.
