The International Conference on Sorghum for Biofuels will be held Aug. 19 at the Omni Hotel, in Houston, Texas. The conference highlights key advances in the use of all types of sorghum for biofuels production. The conference will include tours of research projects at Texas A&M University and other locations.
The keynote address, “Why Biofuels Matter,” will be delivered by Oklahoma Secretary of Energy David Fleischaker.
Other speakers include Tim Lust, CEO of the National Sorghum Producers; Gale A. Buchanan, USDA undersecretary for research, education and economics; Liu Yanhau, vice minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China; and Belum Reddy, principal scientist, breeding, International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics, Patancheru, India.
The program will also feature addresses from private and public industry and government representatives.
