Arkansas farmers rank No. 2 in the nation when it comes to the amount of irrigation water pumped annually. That may surprise some, but it also means irrigating crops can be a major item of expense. The University of Arkansas’ Chris Henry has been working with growers, installing pump monitors and working with load management to help rein in those costs. He spoke at Cotton Incorporated’s Precision Cotton Irrigation Workshop.
