The fifth annual Dean Lee Research and Extension Center Row Crop Field Day will be held on Aug. 23 in Alexandria, La. Registration will begin at 2 p.m. in the new Multi-Purpose Livestock Complex located just south of the LSUA campus off U.S. Highway 71
John Barnett, central region director, will give the opening remarks along with Paul Coreil and David Boethel. The presentations given by LSU AgCenter personnel will cover soybean, corn, grain sorghum and cotton production.
David Lanclos will discuss soybeans, corn and grain sorghum. Steve Moore will discuss variety testing, soybean date of planting and aflatoxin research. Sandy Stewart will discuss his defoliation research work and variety testing and Rob Ferguson will discuss wheat/cotton doublecropping. Ralph Bagwell and Roger Leonard will cover insect pest management. Weed control talks will be given by Donnie Miller, Roy Vidrine and Derek Scroggs.
