On Feb. 26, Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan and American celebrity chef Paul Prudhomme will visit a New Orleans farm to host a cooking demonstration and tasting of local producewith community farmers to highlight the strength and resiliency of American agriculture and economic opportunity associated with local and regionalfoodproduction.
Merrigan will announce a new USDA reportthat highlightsnew economic opportunitiesfor farmers and ranchers by utilizingfood hubsto aggregate their product. She will also highlight USDA’s commitment to increasing economic opportunities for local farmers and ranchers while expanding access to fresh, local foods.
