Education Course on November 8-10 DELTA WILDLIFE, a wildlife enhancement organization for the Mississippi Delta, will be offering certified hunters' education class on November 8, 9, and 10, at the Delta Council/Delta Wildlife building in Stoneville.
The time will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8 and Thursday, November 9, and from 5:30 to 10 p.m., Friday, November 10.
"It is mandatory that all hunters between the ages of 12 and 16 complete this class, and it is also a good idea for all other hunters who have never enrolled in the course to do so as well," said Gayden Metcalfe of Greenville, Chairman of Delta Wildlife's Education and Public Relations Committee.
"Delta Wildlife believes that hunter education and safety are of the utmost concerns as we enjoy our region's natural resources, and that is why we will be offering this course."
Metcalfe noted that the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks also conducts hunters' education classes, and the Delta Wildlife effort serves to enhance the availability of the course for those who may not be able to attend the state agency's classes.
Certified instructor Gayden Pollan, field biologist, will teach the hunters' education class for Delta Wildlife in Stoneville. Participants must attend all classes to be certified, and any child under the age of 16 must have a parent accompany them. It is imperative that all students bring their Social Security cards or know their number.
