“A crawfish farmer’s shopping mall” is what the third annual Louisiana Crawfish Farmers Association Crawfish Farmer EXPO’06 is being called because it will bring farmers and vendors together for a full day of face-to-face business under one roof.
Set for Nov. 7th in a new venue, the Rayne, La., Civic Center, this year’s EXPO will include exhibits from many facets of the crawfish farming industry including products and technology, along with other farm business services and educational resources.
Several manufacturers’ reps will be on hand and the EXPO will also serve as a networking opportunity for crawfish farmers or those who may be considering starting or conversion to crawfish farming.
According to David Savoy, LCFA President, the Crawfish Farmers EXPO’06 was moved to the Rayne facility to provide an indoor, climate-controlled venue. And to better accommodate the farmers’ schedule, the trade show will open earlier in the day at 8 a.m. and lunch, hosted by the Acadia Parish Farm Bureau, will be served on site. The EXPO will continue until 3 p.m.
“We’re excited about moving our EXPO to the Rayne Civic Center,” Savoy said. “It’s the first of several planned upgrades for our show and is the next step in bringing our association and the crawfish farming industry to its position as a leader in aquaculture.”
“The location, just off Interstate 10 Exit 87, is convenient for a large majority of our members and easy to find,” Savoy said, “plus there’s lots of paved parking. But best of all, everyone will appreciate being out of the elements and off of the earthen floor.”
Crawfish Farmers EXPO’06 is open to anyone interested in learning more about the crawfish industry and there is no admission charge to current, new or renewing 2006-07 members of LCFA.
Nonmember/ guest admission is $10.00 at the door, lunch included. Renewals and new member dues will be accepted at the door.
“There are still a few exhibit spaces left for industry suppliers to book at booth at EXPO’06,” says Marti Harrell, LCFA executive director. For exhibitor information, contact Marti Harrell at the LCFA office, 337/394-8182 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
