Agricenter International will host the biggest field day in the Mid-South for commercial agricultural technology at the 2007 AgTechnology Field Day, Thursday, July 19, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Fifteen leading agricultural companies will demonstrate their latest technology. Commercial agricultural providers of crop protectants, biotechnology, seed and crop services will showcase and discuss in-field research and development of new products and technology. Crop plots include corn, cotton, soybeans, alfalfa and rice.
Monsanto plans to introduce its new dicamba herbicide-tolerant soybean while Delta and Pine Land Co. will demonstrate new VIP bio-technology insect-tolerant cotton technology. Official variety trials will also be on display.
This year, there are four tours with three to four stops on each. Tours will run from 7 a.m. to noon, with lunch served from noon to 1 p.m. Tours will be followed by a speaker session on biofuel.
Biofuel production capacity is increasing rapidly in the United States, and is expected to play a major role in improving air quality and reducing America’s dependence on foreign oil. Hear how the biofuel revolution will affect agricultural producers in the coming years.
