Arkansas weed resistance field day set for July 30

Have you ever wondered what to do if you had a weed resistance problem on your farm? The University of Arkansas Lonoke County Extension office, in conjunction with Extension specialists and industry representatives, have established weed control plots in a field of glyphosate-resistant pigweed. The plots look at the best approach to controlling resistant weeds in a soybean field using Liberty and Roundup systems.
A field day has been planned for Thursday, July 30, beginning at 10:30 a.m., at the Dee Henderson farm near Keo (the field is located about two miles east of Keo on 165. It is the first field on the right if you are headed east, after passing the trees. Call the Lonoke County Extension office (501)676-3124 for more directions). Organizers and researchers will lead tours of the demonstration and discuss weed resistance management for your farm.
Bob Scott, Arkansas Extension weed specialist, and industry representatives will be on hand to discuss the latest technology and best options for managing weed resistance. This is an excellent opportunity to get a closer look at weed resistance plans in action. Plan on attending this field day and having all your weed control issues answered.
