Tri-State Soybean Forum Jan. 9

Producers from Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi will have an opportunity to hear the latest in soybean research during the 2009 Tri-State Soybean Forum, Jan. 9, at the Thomas Jason Lingo Center in Oak Grove, La.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the meeting will feature a variety of production topics covered by experts from the LSU AgCenter, the University of Arkansas and Mississippi State University. Topics and speakers include:
• Conventional soybean weed control options, Trey Koger, associate Extension professor, Mississippi State University.
• Soybean seed quality and seed availability, Richard Cartwright, professor, Extension plant pathology, University of Arkansas Extension.
• Soybean seed inoculation concerns and issues, Jeremy Ross, Extension agronomist, University of Arkansas Extension.
• Late-season soybean insect management, Roger Leonard, professor, Macon Ridge Research Station, LSU AgCenter.
• Late-season soybean disease management, Boyd Padgett, professor, Macon Ridge Research Station, LSU AgCenter.
• Soybean market outlook, Jim Daven, Commercial Grain Cattle, Inc.
• U.S. Soybean Board update.
• Tri-State Soybean producer panel.
