McCormick International USA donated a new MC115 (115 hp) tractor to the historic Cyrus McCormick Farm located at the Shenandoah Valley Agricultural Research and Extension Center at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, popularly known as Virginia Tech.
David Fiske, director of the facility, received the tractor on behalf of the Cyrus McCormick Farm and the Shenandoah Valley Agricultural Research and Extension Center. Fiske stated the tractor will be used by the farm staff to continue their work with agricultural research and development.
“McCormick is proud to donate this tractor to the Cyrus McCormick Farm, a National Historic Landmark, where in 1831, the first mechanized reaper was developed that revolutionized American agriculture,” said Chad Huyser, marketing manager for McCormick USA.
“Today, McCormick USA continues the legacy of Cyrus McCormick by developing a full line of tractors offering customers value and practical technology.”
The McCormick tractor was re-introduced in the United States 18 months ago and has rapidly expanded its product line and dealer network. McCormick offers a line of tractors ranging from 20 hp to 200 hp with additional product introduction expected this fall.
