Seminar targets women working in agriculture

Women, who are often the sole decision-makers in their agricultural businesses, are the target audience for an upcoming seminar in the Mississippi Delta.
The three-day program will help participants learn how to make the best choices for their businesses and lay the groundwork for future educational opportunities.
This is the third year for “Mississippi Women in Agriculture — Annie’s Project.”
Topics include business plans, estate planning, financial records and statements, human resources, marketing, risk management, technology security, and women and money.
The seminar costs $60, which includes lunches, a notebook and support materials. Preregistration is required, and space is limited.
The seminar will be Feb. 24-26 at the Capps Center at 920 Highway 82 West in Indianola, Miss. Women with interest in any form of agriculture will benefit from the seminar.
The Mississippi State University’s Extension Service is partnering with the Southern Region Risk Management Center, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Cooperative State Research Education and Extension Service, the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation and the Southern Rural Development Center to sponsor these business management seminars.
