Delta Area Rice Meeting Nov. 20

Rice producers from Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana will attend the annual Delta Area Rice Meeting in Cleveland, Miss., at 6 p.m., Nov. 20, at the Bolivar County Extension Service Auditorium at 406 N Martin Luther King Drive.

Rice specialists from Mississippi State University’s Delta Research and Extension Center will speak on the 2008 rice crop and address concerns for next year’s production.

Nathan Buehring, MSU rice specialist, will discuss the 2008 crop and talk about several aspects of weed control for growers to consider for next year.

MSU Associate Research Professor Tim Walker will discuss new varieties of rice and their responses to various rates of fertilizers. He will share research on several long-standing varieties.
