e-zine to help visitors get more show for their dollars

Visitors to the Farm Press Web sites have a new feature that can help them get more bang for their travel dollar for farm shows and other events they attend or help them visit exhibitors for those they can’t.

The first Farm Press e-zine (short for digital magazine) to appear on the sites comes from the recently completed Sunbelt Ag Expo. Clicking on the Sunbelt Ag Showcase e-zine button takes visitors to information from exhibitors who participated in the show in Moultrie, Ga.

“We are very excited to be the first in the ag industry to bring our customers a digital magazine that showcases products seen at the 2004 Sunbelt Expo,” says Greg Frey, publisher of the Farm Presses.

“We have observed that farmers don’t always have time to visit all the exhibitors they would like to see, especially at a big show like the Sunbelt Ag Expo. This new feature allows farmers to obtain information from exhibitors they couldn’t meet and for exhibitors to reach growers who couldn’t attend the show.”

Clicking on the Sunbelt Ag Showcase box on the Farm Press Web sites takes the viewer to a table of contents page that lists categories of exhibitors from the Sunbelt Expo. When you click on an exhibitor’s name or product, the program takes you to a magazine page containing information about the exhibitor and the company’s products.

The e-zine software allows viewers to flip between pages of the digital magazine to see information on other products in the same category or other categories.

“We expect to be providing similar magazines for other farm shows and events in the future,” said Frey. “We think this concept has a great deal of potential for helping our readers make better use of their time and money.”
