Music video proceeds to benefit future of agriculture in rural America

• The music video, shot on location at the farm of Chuck and Matt Coley in Vienna, Ga., during the 2013 crop season, portrays the hard work, pride, and heroism of American cotton farmers.

With the 2013 cotton harvest in full swing, Deltapine is excited to announce the release of the much-anticipated official music video to the song, “Where Heroes are Made,” which was written earlier in the year as a special tribute the farmers participating in the Deltapine New Product Evaluator (NPE) program.

The music video, shot on location at the farm of Chuck and Matt Coley in Vienna, Ga., during the 2013 crop season, portrays the hard work, pride, and heroism of American cotton farmers. Because of its initial popularity with NPE farmers, the song quickly became a tribute to all of America’s cotton producers – an anthem to a way of life.

“At first I was kind of shocked. I had to ask, ‘Why feature us?’” said Matt Coley. “As things progressed and we went through the story line it all kind of made sense. We aren’t much different that most farm families. Hearing your own story on tape, you get to realize the sacrifice and hardships the past generations made and what my generation is going through. This was just a great opportunity. It’s such an honor to be awarded the chance to help promote farmers in the U.S.

“The ending scene when dad is closing the door on the shop, it was kind of like he was getting ready to take a step back, let the next generation step in,” continues Coley.

“It was like he was closing the shop door for the last time. That was really neat. Folks all across the Cotton Belt have been calling me, saying they’ve been seeing the production videos. They’re telling me how much they’ve enjoyed it and how much they appreciate what we’re doing to promote family farms, and what Monsanto is doing to help America’s family farms.”

You can now view the “Where Heroes Are Made” music video, teaser clips and download the song for just $0.99 at www.deltapine.com/heroes. Deltapine will donate all proceeds to a cause that supports the future of agriculture in rural America, to be announced at a later date.

“The ‘Where Heroes are Made’ song and video shows the commitment and dedication all cotton farmers put into each and every crop season,” said Lauren Straatmann, Deltapine marketing manager.

“The Coley farming operation is a perfect location to put visuals to the song to make it come alive and strike pride in each and every farmer and others involved in cotton production. Monsanto and Deltapine cotton are dedicated and committed to the success of America’s farmers and the well-being of the industry at large.”
