Twelve Mid-South gins scored a perfect 100 evaluation in the Southern Cotton Ginners Association safety program for 2005. They were honored at the annual meeting of the association held in conjunction with the Mid-South Farm and Gin Show at Memphis.
“All these gins have outstanding safety programs, with a constant emphasis on making everyone aware of the need to put safety first,” said Larry Davis, safety director for the association.
Most Outstanding Safety Program Awards for the association were presented to Cotton Growers, Inc., Dell, Ark.; McGehee Producers Gin, McGehee, Ark.; Pendleton Gin, Dumas, Ark.; Tillar Gin & Fertilizer, Tillar, Ark.; Columbus Gin, Shaw, Miss.; Silver Creek Gin, Holly Bluff, Miss.; McNutt Gin, Boyce, La.; Tanner & Company, Frogmore, La.; B & B Cotton Company, Campbell, Mo.; Sandy Ridge Cotton Co., Malden, Mo.; Longtown Gin, Mason, Tenn.; and Zion Gin, Brownsville, Tenn.
State awards for Most Outstanding Safety Program went to Shawnee Village Gin LLC, Joiner, Ark.; Tri-Parish Gin, Lettsworth, La.; Avon Gin, Avon, Miss.; White Oak Gin, White Oak, Mo.; and Phoenix Gin, Tiptonville, Tenn≽
The Most Improved Safety Program award for the association was presented to Kiech-Shauver-Miller Gin, Monette, Ark.
