Outlook bright for 2014 Mississippi sweet potato crop


As Mississippi's sweet potato harvest kicks off, acreage is up from last year and demand is strong. That's the message growers were given at the annual Mississippi Sweet Potato Field Day at the Pontotoc Ridge-Flatwoods Branch Experiment Station. Stephen Meyers, Mississippi Extension sweet potato specialist, and Benny Graves, executive director of the Mississippi Sweet Potato Council, discussed the field day and the crop outlook.
