Renewable energy field day June 16

A field day focusing on renewable energy will kick off on June 16 in DeWitt, Ark.

Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA) in collaboration with the Arkansas Delta Training & Education Consortium (ADTEC) and the Center of Excellence in Renewable Energy Technology Education (CERETE) will hold the field day on the DeWitt campus of PCCUA from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Tours will feature the ADTEC Renewable Energy Demonstration Project and the newly renovated Agriculture and Renewable Energy Technology Training Center and Laboratory.

Field day registration begins at 9 a.m. with tours beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Speakers for the event will travel from UA-Fayetteville, Arkansas State University, and the renewable energy industry.

Those attending the field day will have easy access to plantings of various oil and biomass crops. Plantings of miscanthus, eastern gamagrass, sorghum sudangrass, switchgrass, flax, sunflowers and other energy crops may be viewed on the tours through the demonstration project.
