East Arkansas’ Lee County Cooperative Extension Service will conduct a Pesticide Applicators Training on Friday, January 20.  The training will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Lon Mann Cotton Research Station on Highway 1 south of Marianna, Ark.

“Farmers who wish to purchase and/or apply restricted use pesticides are required by the Arkansas State Plant Board to attend a training program to be certified or re-certified before they can receive a pesticide applicators license,” said Lazaro English, Lee County Extension Agent-Staff Chair. “If you already have a license, please check the expiration date. It may be time to attend a training to get your card renewed.”

The Pesticide Applicators Training is open to all interested persons without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age, disability, marital or veteran status, or any other legally protected status. Persons with disabilities who require alternative means for communication of program information (large print, audiotapes, etc.) should notify the Lee County Extension office as soon as possible prior to the activity.

For more information contact the Lee County Extension office at (870) 295-7720.
