Mississippi Commodity Advisory Council meeting set for Feb. 25

  • Coastal area commodity producers are invited to meet with Mississippi State University experts during the fifth annual Commodity Advisory Council Feb. 25 at the Coastal Research and Extension Center. 

Coastal area commodity producers are invited to meet with Mississippi State University experts during the fifth annual Commodity Advisory Council Feb. 25 at the Coastal Research and Extension Center.

Producers will have the opportunity to evaluate and provide direction on Extension programming and research by the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station for their products and crops. Representatives of MSU’s Extension Service and MAFES will discuss currentissues and answer questions.

Individual commodity sessions include commercial ornamental horticulture, fruits, livestock, row crops, seafood and aquaculture, forestry, home horticulture, vegetables, equine and bee keeping. Each commodity group will share its research and Extension priorities during a general session.

Deadline for preregistration is Feb. 15. On-site registration begins at 9 a.m., and the meeting will end at 2:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

The Coastal Research and Extension Center is located at 1815 Popp’s Ferry Road inBiloxi.
