DuPont Pioneer - Partners in Innovation

In the mid-1980s, Pioneer had an extensive breeding program in the spring wheat area of the Dakotas. Because farmers planted mostly bin-run seed, Pioneer decided to exit that market and focus its efforts in other markets. If you go to the Dakotas today, Pioneer’s Randy Schlatter notes, you’ll see hundreds of thousands of acres of corn and soybeans. Schlatter talked about Pioneer’s new Partners in Innovation program that is aimed at addressing intellectual property issues in an interview at Pioneer’s media day event.
