Conservation tillage meeting set for Jan. 15-16

Producers who attend the seventh annual National Conservation Tillage Cotton and Rice Conference will be presented with an extensive array of information to enable them to fine-tune their operations.
The event, sponsored by Mid-America Farm Publications, with Delta Farm Press as media co-sponsor, will be held Jan. 15-16 at the Grand Casino Convention Center at Tunica, Miss.
“Breakout sessions will offer approximately 80 specific topic choices over the two-day period,” says John LaRose, president of Mid-America Farm Publications. “Several of these are sure to focus on topics most important to each producer.”
Each session will be led by a university research and a producer who is practicing the system, with each offering sound, practical answers to help both beginners and veteran con-till farmers.
“We'll have 70-plus producers and researchers making presentations during the breakout sessions,” LaRose says. “Discussions are informal and questions or comments from the audience are always welcomed, and often offer a new twist on the topic. No one leaves without learning something new and useful, and everyone finds they can rework some facet of their operation in order to create more stability and increase profits.”
The conference also offers opportunities for cotton and rice producers to meet and share knowledge and experiences, he says.
In addition to offering an excellent facility for the conference, the Grand Casino complex offers a number of entertainment/recreational choices for after hours.
Cotton Incorporated and the U.S. Rice Producers Association are partners in the production of the conference, and there are a number of academic, technical, and corporate co-sponsors.
