LSU AgCenter planning annual forestry forum

THE LSU AGCENTER will host the 19th Annual Ark-La-Tex Forestry Forum March 13 at the Holiday Inn Financial Plaza in Shreveport, La.

Topics on this year's agenda include an update on forestry issues, the latest on landowner assistance programs, the use of fire on Kisatchie National Forest, comparing forestry to other investments, poultry litter application for forestry and wildlife, a pine beetle update, wildfire in the wildland-urban interface and tips to avoid timber theft.

The forum will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the registration fee, which covers lunch and a copy of the program proceedings, is $17 for those registered by March 7. After that date, or at the door, the fee is $22.
