LOUISIANA FARMERS and agribusiness leaders will meet with some of the nation's top policymakers Feb. 26-27 in Baton Rouge for the 2003 Agricultural Crisis Summit to hammer out solutions to the depressed economic conditions in the state's agricultural industry.
“Many Louisiana farmers experienced one of their worst years in 2002 because of the tropical storms followed by excessive rain,” said William B. “Bill” Richardson, chancellor of the LSU AgCenter, one of the organizers of the summit.
The summit, which will take place at the Holiday Inn South, begins with a reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Feb. 26. Registration begins at 8 a.m., Feb. 27.
Although there is no cost to participate, registration is required and can be conducted online at www.lsuagcenter.com/agsummit or by calling Trudie Lewis at 225-578-2391.
