DeKalb expanding corn portfolio for 2010

Each year DeKalb corn combines its exclusive genetics with the latest traits to deliver consistent performance and greater yield potential to farmers nationwide. 2010 is no exception, as DeKalb corn is the leading provider of Genuity VT Triple PRO technology, which offers the industry’s first dual mode of action for above-ground insect protection in corn.

DeKalb corn is expanding its portfolio of top-performing seed products to include 33 new high-performing products for the 2010 growing season, including 8 products planned with Genuity VT Triple PRO technology.

DeKalb brand Genuity VT Triple PRO corn provides a broader spectrum of insect control against target pests, including corn earworm and fall armyworm, resulting in higher yield potential and better grain quality. Genuity VT Triple PRO corn also gives farmers in the South the opportunity to reduce their refuge acres (50 percent to 20 percent), which can increase profitability on the farm.

“We are strongly committed to developing corn seed technologies that can help farmers be more successful,” said Jeff Widder, DeKalb marketing manager. “Our latest products for 2010 come from an industry-leading germplasm pool and are paired with the latest traits to provide farmers with the best seed choices for their operations.”
