In “Arkansas rice diseases and varieties: 2005 in review” (Delta Farm Press, Jan. 27, 2006), the rice variety ST603IMI261-177 was incorrectly listed as a “hybrid.” Instead, according to Randy Ouzts, general manager of Horizon Ag LLC, the variety is actually “a (Clearfield variety)…that Horizon has in counter seasonal production at our Puerto Rico nursery. For the moment we've denoted it as CLX177, but it will be renamed within the Horizon scheme once released. We anticipate a limited number of acres in Arkansas this season dependent upon our harvest date in Puerto Rico. We'll actually have two new lines coming forward in 2007 with another from LSU that looks extremely promising in regard to yield and disease package.”

The cutline that accompanied a photo with an article on FMC's new Carbine insecticide in the Feb. 3 Delta Farm Press misspelled the name of Paul Redhage, communications manager at FMC Corporation.
