These larger-sized Precision Disk 500 air drills help growers cover more acres in short planting windows.

“Known for its accurate seed placement and ability to seed in diverse conditions — from no-till to reduced-till to conventional-till — the new Precision Disk 500 air drills are designed based on customer requests for wider operating widths to give them greater productivity.”
Growers can take advantage of faster fill times by pairing these larger drills with Precision Air carts. These carts are available in sizes from 280 to 430 bushels in a tow-between or tow-behind configuration or 580 bushels in a tow-behind configuration.
The larger sizes of the Precision Disk 500 are also an ideal match for higher-horsepower tractors, such as the new Case IH Steiger 620 — the highest-horsepower agricultural tractor available in the market today with 682 maximum engine horsepower.
“The Steiger is a great pairing for the Precision Disk air drill,” says Simpson.
“Together they allow producers to cover more acres, making the most of long workdays and lowering input costs. The result is lower equipment investment per acre, and that can make a big impact on a grower’s bottom line.”
The rugged, reliable frames of the Precision Disk 500 air drill hold up to changing field conditions — even going from no-till to conventional — with the main center frame oriented in a “V” to provide exceptional weight distribution and stability.
The new frame design also makes transport easier, as the wide profile of the transport wheels provide the stability to move the disk drill confidently, even at higher road speeds.
“Ease of transport is increasingly important as growers farm more land that is not contiguous,” says Simpson. “The Precision Disk vertical-fold design gives them the industry’s lowest transport height and narrow transport widths.”
Additionally, there are no daily maintenance requirements, allowing you to stay in the field longer. “Maintenance requirements are almost non-existent,” says Simpson. “There’s only one greaseable point on the row unit. And that is on the gauge wheel adjustment spindle — requiring greasing every 50 hours or once per season.”
Like other members of the Precision Disk family, these larger drills feature a parallel-link row unit for unmatched seed placement accuracy. The drills are available in either 7.5- or 10-inch row spacings.
Newly designed double-edged closing wheels, with three easy-to-adjust pressure settings, eliminate air pockets and ensure good seed-to-soil contact. Hydraulic down pressure across the full width of the disk drill can be adjusted either manually or via an in-cab display option.
The 50- and 60-foot Precision Disk 500 also provide the flexibility to seed across multiple crops and conditions:
• Meter-roller options available with the Case IH Precision Air delivery systems provide accurate metering across a wide range of crops, including soybeans, wheat, hybrid rice, milo and cover crops.
• Single, easy-to-reach “T” handles select and lock in seeding depth with one adjustment – no tools necessary. Depth settings range from zero to 3.5 inches in 14 increments.
• Patent-pending variable down-pressure springs put the right amount of pressure on individual row units for better penetration across varying residue and soil conditions.
