Asgrow expands soybean lineup for 2010

For this growing season, Asgrow brand Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield soybeans will be offered in expanded maturities and expanded geographies, including the upper Midwest and in some of the largest soybean-producing areas in the South.

Now, more farmers can look forward to enhanced yield potential in 2010.

Asgrow brand is the leading provider of the Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield trait, and this season it’s offering farmers 34 Asgrow Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield products, ranging from 0.4 to 6.7 relative maturities.

Farmers know they can count on Asgrow soybeans for consistent performance and innovation year after year, and 2010 is no exception. The Asgrow Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield Advancement Class of 2010 — which includes 19 new products that were added this past fall — delivered outstanding results in 2009 trials.

The Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield trait was developed through extensive gene mapping that identifies those regions within soybean DNA that have the greatest impact on yield. The resulting soybean products help farmers produce more soybeans per pod and more bushels per acre, for higher yield and profit potential at harvest.

“Farmers can count on the combination of high-performing Asgrow genetics and Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield technology to deliver consistently higher yield potential,” says Jerry Devore, Asgrow Marketing Manager. “Those who have planted Asgrow Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield are reporting significantly higher yields than with first-generation Roundup Ready products.”

One such farmer — Ernest Schlatter of Lebanon, Kan. — was impressed with the performance of his Asgrow Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield soybeans in 2009 and is excited to plant them again this spring.

“I figured there would be a yield increase with this new technology, and there was,” Schlatter says. “They yielded about 12 percent better than other soybeans I planted. All my soybeans will be Asgrow Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield this season.”
