Arkansas Cotton Meeting Feb. 3

The Mississippi County, Ark., Cooperative Extension Service will hold the 2009 Cotton Production Meeting Feb. 3 at the Northeast Research and Extension Center in Keiser, Ark.

Registration will start at 8:30 a.m. and the meeting will begin at 9 a.m. Lunch will be provided by industry sponsors.

Updates on the latest in cotton production and marketing will be given by University of Arkansas specialists.

Speakers include: Tom Barber, University of Arkansas cotton specialist, Glenn Studebaker, University of Arkansas area entomologist; Archie Flanders, University of Arkansas area economist; Ken Smith, University of Arkansas weed specialist; and Fred Bourland, director of the Northeast Research and Extension Center.

Topics that will be discussed include: cotton crop management, weed and insect management, marketing, and variety selection.

CEUs will be available.
