American Vanguard, Pioneer Hi-Bred Seeds offer SmartBox marketing

American Vanguard Corporation has announced that its subsidiary, AMVAC Chemical Corporation, has partnered with Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., a subsidiary of E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, for a marketing program for AMVAC's SmartBox closed-handling system.

Pioneer brand seed customers now have the opportunity to qualify for a discount on the purchase of a SmartBox system.

The SmartBox closed-handling system uses an in-cab computerized controller for precise application of granular corn rootworm insecticides, as well as monitoring and record-keeping. Applicator exposure is virtually eliminated, since insecticides are pre-packaged in 50-pound returnable containers that are keyed to open only when lock mounted into the SmartBox applicator. This eliminates the need to open, pour and dispose of bags and reduces the risk of skin contact and inhalation. This low-maintenance system, which now includes a GPS-compatible controller, can be fitted on all major planter brands.
